ALTERED STATE REFLECTIONS 58TH RELEASE!
Chris Navatier and I (Jared C. Balogh) have known each other for over 15 years. We have been in countless bands with each other from 1996-2000 (Muzzy/Maker, Meeting of The Minds, The Rebuilt, and Soneduster). After 2000, we went our separate ways with music and created our own projects. In 2007, I briefly joined him and a friend’s studio project named A.M. Lowlights to play drums. Up until the summer of 2010, Chris and I didn’t jamm out for over 10 years until we record a first/take improv jamm session. When talking about music, Chris and I would always bring up the topic of when a song or an idea of a song was first created. The visceral feeling of the emotion behind it, the purity it had, and the evolution of subconscious though behind. So with these thoughts, the jamm session we had in the summer of 2010 turn out to be “Cling”. “Cling” vol. 1 was released on Kermeese Records in the fall of 2010. “Cling” is a 4 track lo-fi release with minimal editing that has a modest structure to each song that also kept the principle of the first take improv and visceral emotions. We decide to record a jamm again, in January 2011 with the same ideas behind volume 1. “Cling” vol. 2 was created and is three tracks of lo-fi recordings. The run time is about 24 minutes and is a minimally edited take of our jamm that day. NOTE: This series also includes pitch, tempo, and notation mistakes, temporary times were musicians are not on the same page with each other during creation and recording flaws.
